WEATHER UPDATE- I think it prudent to have some sort of weather disclaimer since we are depending on Mother Nature's temperment. Common sense tells me, if it's raining, we should wait until the following Saturday- so that is the standing rule for now.

This first meeting will not be super organized, mostly because I've never hosted a MeetUp before! I am assuming the best way to begin is to just get together and pair off. Perhaps after we have some regular players we can begin holding tournaments but until then, let's keep it just casual fun.

Anyone willing to help teach novice players please contact me.

Of course- we will need boards and cards to play. I have a board and will buy some extra decks of cards but if you have a board or two, please bring it along just in case. I am going to try to locate a rule book as well, just in case there is a question.

Looking forward to finally meeting some cribbage players!

My Dad learned it in England, taught my older brother, then taught me when I was of age. That was so he could indulge in the two-against-one variation (i.e., "cut-throat" cribbage) Semper cribbage! And thanks to the Brits; great game, old chaps!

The last time I played was with my friend, Cecil, last May and I won the first game...Prior to that time, it had been about 8 years since I played.

Who attended?

    •  I wasn't able to find the group. I walked around the park 3 times looking for anyone with playing cards or a board. I waited 1 hour and then left. Perhaps a SPECIFIC meeting place, i.e. fountain, for next Saturday's meetup would be helpful?
    •  after arriving at 11, I circled Bryant park four times to discover no one playing cribbage. Next time cel phone #s. Please tell me the meet up did occur and I just missed you somehow. Other wise this was the poorest organised meet up of all time.
